The first step to becoming a Music Within class leader, is to attend and successfully complete the training, interview and questionnaire. The training should last no more than half a day, and the interview will (hopefully!) happen on the same day. Then, once a CRB check has been completed and you have signed the franchise contract, you can start planning your new business.
The next step is to find yourself a venue for your classes. These can be run in your own home, or you can find a hall or studio to run them in - it's entirely up to you! Music Within can provide you with advice about finding venues, and deciding on class sizes, times and charges.
Once you have decided on a venue and class times, you can then advertise to attract mums-to-be. As part of your franchise package, you will be assigned your own post-coded area to advertise in, and Music Within can help you target your marketing efficiently.
To run your classes, you'll need a reliable CD player, and enough cushions for at least 2 per lady (IKEA sell very cheap cushions!). Still and sparkling water should be made available at all times. Every session ends with a chance to socialise over fruit tea, so you will also need a kettle and cups, and a selection of fruit teas.
You will need to run classes according to the class structure and guidelines provided during training, collect fees from customers and maintain accurate records of attendance, and ensure that hygiene standards are maintained as per guidelines when serving drinks.
You may now wish to know more details about the structure of the classes, about the qualities needed to run a class, or details about the cost of the franchise and possible income.
