Music Within sessions are fun and rewarding, and the franchise is designed to fit well with your existing MUSIC with MUMMY business. The scheme allows mums to get to know you, and provides a willing influx of new babies for your Jolly Babies classes. Also, Music Within sessions often appeal to 2nd-time mums who are looking for a different approach to antenatal preparation. As a MUSIC with MUMMY franchisee, you are ideally positioned to offer them Music Within sessions when you are told the happy news.
While MUSIC with MUMMY franchisees will still need to attend the introductory training, this is offered at a reduced rate of £60 (including the fee for addition of your details to this website). The training is specifically tailored to your needs, focussing on the differences between the two franchises and on the sessions themselves. The sessions are for adults rather than children, and the emphasis is towards relaxation, contemplation and 'me-time' - rather different from the noisiest of MUSIC with MUMMY classes!
You will not be required to attend an interview or obtain a CRB check, as you will have been through this process already with MUSIC with MUMMY. However, you will need to sign a Music Within contract, because Music Within is a separate franchise, run by Music Within - Music Without Limited. Your contract will allow you to run classes in the same postcoded area as your existing MUSIC with MUMMY contract. You will also need to purchase additional 3rd party liability insurance, as the policy you already have for MUSIC with MUMMY does not cover Music Within classes. The franchise structure is very similar to MUSIC with MUMMY, and the schemes share the same flexibility regarding working hours and times. While the MUSIC with MUMMY schemes tend to operate only during term-time, you can choose whether to operate Music Within sessions all year round, as your ladies may not be bound by school terms. The structure of each individual session is on the same lines as JOLLY BABIES in that the sequence of sections is the same each week, but the class leader has the choice of music and relaxation techniques within each section - the ladies will soon recognise the format, but no two classes need be identical!
Lindsay Lucas, the creator and founder of Music Within, is Regional Co-ordinator for MUSIC with MUMMY, West Midlands. David and Diane Cox, the successful partnership behind MUSIC with MUMMY, encouraged Lindsay to develop an antenatal music class. They have fully supported the Music Within franchise, and this is reflected in the direct links between the two websites. While the Music Within franchising opportunity is being advertised nationwide, all MUSIC with MUMMY franchisees are offered first refusal on a franchise in their area. When our Head Office receives an application form, contact is made with any existing MUSIC with MUMMY franchisee in the area, and they will be offered the opportunity to take up the Music Within franchise before the new applicant's franchise is granted.
In areas where MUSIC with MUMMY franchisees do not already operate, franchises may still be run by suitable applicants. However, it is a requirement that babies are recommended to their nearest Jolly Babies class, so that continuity between the franchises is maintained.
